Serving teen parents; from literacy skills to life skills.
Klor, Ellin and Sarah Lapin.
This volume advocates for libraries as a potentially valuable source for significantly improving the lives of not only teen parents, but subsequently their children. The book is equally directed at, and for, teens with or about to have children, as well as directors of potential or current programs providing services for them. A chapter on program development identifies ways to successfully implement programs from formulating a plan to fundraising and staffing. Another chapter focuses on life-skills and parenting, providing examples for teen parents on how to interact with their children through play-acting, literature, and other appropriate devices.
